About Me

Aisling Özdemir

Aisling Özdemir

About me… I feel way too prepared for this. I’ve spent my life like Jimmy Rabbitte talking to an imaginary Wogan, answering questions that range from my star sign to my religious beliefs. I’m afraid I’ll either bore or piss people off with the minutiae of my life. I wrote a short story at 18 about a woman who ate brains to improve her IQ, (a fictional story, I might add… I’ve always loved Stephen King). I went to the trouble of painting the cover and adding a short biography, an aspirational “about me”. Twenty-one years have passed and I’ll let you decipher what I’ve achieved of my teenage goals….

Aisling Özdemir (née Kelly) was born in the city of Dublin in 1976. The daughter of an electrical wholesaler and a secretary, Aisling pursued a bachelor of Arts degree in University College Dublin. On receiving her degree, Aisling toured the world, earning the love and respect of all she met, becoming a modern icon. Aisling moved to Hollywood and mingled with the celebrities. However, tiring of this lifestyle, she retired to the Wicklow countryside with her fiancee Daniel Day Lewis where she now lives and works writing on average three novels a year with an annual income of twenty million pounds. True story.
